Makenica Console 3.0
This was the 3rd major iteration of the platform, we used React (along with Tailwindcss) for fronted development and Django (along with PostgreSQL, Django-REST-Framework and Celery) for backend development. The cloud infrastructure was hosted on DigitalOcean and Linode.
This iteration was carefully designed, to meet all business requirements in various sub-domains in which Makenica operates - quoting, order management, production management, taxation, billing, packaging, shipment, credit control and payment collection and recovery. This time it was meant to be the back-bone of the business, leading Makenica to a full digital transformation as an organisation.
Some of the business outcomes achieved via this project:
- The main method for placing order with Makenica, whether self-serviced by customer or by a staff - - member on-behalf of the customer.
- Standardised manufacturing requirements and order processing pipeline
- Able to serve global customer with multi-currency quoting, payment, taxation and shipment modules.
- Improved quality of leads, as the requirement gathering is detailed with dynamic form and considering all aspects of the manufacturing process
Makenica Console 2.0
This is the previous iteration of Makenica Console, it was meant to serve as an MVP. The platform was built using Flutter Web as the frontend and Django (along with PostgreSQL, Django-REST-Framework and Celery) used for backend development. The cloud infrastructure was hosted on DigitalOcean platform.
After operating for about 3 year, we decided to bring this project to an end, considering various limitations with the stack and technical decisions we took - given the objective was to build an MVP. We decide to re-write the project (Makenica Console 3.0, mentioned above) with better understanding of user requirements, business domain, scalability.
Some of the business outcomes achieved via this project:
- The platform became one of the main revenue and sales pipeline of Makenica, generating USD 3,000 worth of order every month.
- The platform also become the main lead generation mechanism, for the business.
- On-boarded 8500+ customers on the platform
- Generated 20,000+ instant quotes, for more than 1,20,000+ manufacturing configurations (CAD design + manufacturing specification)
